Freezing Cold Winter

Can you imagine wearing only pants and shirt outside when the temperature drops below sub-zero, let's say negative 10 degree Celsius? For sure, I cannot do that. I was only some minutes outside this afternoon to throw some trash and papers, wearing a fleece jacket but still it is very cold. I always see to it that I wear the proper winter clothes and accessories in this very freezing cold winter. I want to look for some heated gloves if we go shopping tomorrow. Yes, it is winter sale in Germany. I hope I can find winter stuffs that are really very cheap.

The temperature today and in the coming days will really be very very cold especially in Bavaria, Germany. I guess most countries in Europe are hit by the so-called Siberian High starting today. So all people out there, be sure to wear proper winter clothing to keep you warm. Be safe too!

Gospel Inspiration-Mark 3:31-35

This is an important truth – it is those who hear the Word of God and obey it that please God. Today is the Feast of St. Francis de Sales, a great apologist and evangelist for the Church at around the time of the Reformation, whose life reflected this truth in a wonderful way. He spent much time sitting and talking with the influential people of his time, convincing them to remain faithful to the Church. He wrote much about the love of God and inspired many through his life of love and service.

Daily Inspiration- 2 Samuel 6:12-15, 17-19

David is not ashamed to sing and dance before the presence of God in the Ark of the Covenant. His joy is something we do well to reflect upon as it indicates the joy we should have in our hearts at the gift of salvation offered to us through the cross and resurrection of Jesus. Where is the joy in our hearts and lives at this moment? If it is not there we need to ask ourselves where it is, and then go and get it!

2 Samuel 6:12-15, 17-19

12 David went to bring up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into the City of David amid festivities. 13 As soon as the bearers of the ark of the Lord had advanced six steps, he sacrificed an ox and a fatling. 14 Then David, girt with a linen apron, came dancing before the Lord with abandon, 15 as he and all the Israelites were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts of joy and to the sound of the horn. 17 The ark of the Lord was brought in and set in its place within the tent David had pitched for it. Then David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the Lord. 18 When he finished making these offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord of hosts. 19 He then distributed among all the people, to each man and each woman in the entire multitude of Israel, a loaf of bread, a cut of roast meat, and a raisin cake. With this, all the people left for their homes.

My Gadget Wishlist

2012 is here and there are some gadgets that I need this year. I already started browsing these gadgets online. I am trying to search for cheap lens for my canon SLR camera, an external hard drive for my files and travel photos and maybe a digicam that I can use in my travels or any activities that may arise. I started to compare camcorders in ebay and amazon the past days. Until now, I still did not come up to a decision which one I want. Hopefully before the end of the month, I can already decide which gadget to buy first.

Daily Inspiration- Numbers 6:22-27

Blessings are always a sign of God’s pleasure. We forget about this at times, therefore, we do not fully appreciate the significance of receiving a blessing from Him. When we meet someone we greet them and ask them how they are doing. It is a sign of politeness to do this, just as it is a sign of God’s favour when we receive His blessing. Let us open our hearts anew this year with greater expectation and openness to receiving the blessings of God in whatever form they may come.

Numbers 6:22-27

22 The Lord said to Moses: 23 “Speak to Aaron and his sons and tell them: This is how you shall bless the Israelites. Cookie Delivery for Sis Memorable Day

I am happy to see some photos of my sister during her birthday. She celebrated her special day with friends and family more than a week ago. Sad to say I was not able to join her celebration because I am thousand of miles away from her. She was so happy with the cookie delivery during her party. I did not expect that she will have a party that time. I believed she had a great and wonderful time on her natal day. Daily Inspiration- 1 Samuel 1:9-20

We see the anguish of a woman who is barren in Hannah’s willingness to give her child to the Lord for His service. Anything is better than having to endure the shame of barrenness, even having to give up the child after he is born and is old enough to serve the Lord in the Temple. I wonder if we have ever known that level of desperation? We should have known it in our desire to get rid of all the sin in our lives!

1 Samuel 1:9-20

9 Hannah rose after meal at Shiloh, and presented herself before the Lord; at the time, Eli the priest was sitting on a chair near the doorpost of the Lord’s temple. 10 In her bitterness she prayed to the Lord, weeping copiously, 11 and she made a vow, promising “O Lord of hosts, if you look with pity on the misery of your handmaid, if you remember me and do not forget me, if you give your handmaid a male child, I will give him to the Lord for as long as he lives; neither wine nor liquor shall he drink, and no razor shall ever touch his head.” 12 As she remained long at prayer before the Lord, Eli watched her mouth, 13 for Hannah was praying silently; though her lips were moving, her voice could not be heard. Happy with my New Books

This is a very special day for us today. Around noon time, the phone rang and when I picked it up I thought it was something for me. It was not only a good news for me but most especially for hubby also. We are very glad and thankful today that our prayers were finally answered.

Another thing is, I am quite happy with the presents I got last Christmas. I love books and I am happy to have new ones in my collections especially travel books. Next time, I hope I can have one of those ebook readers. This is quite convenient especially if you are travelling because it is very handy. Besides you can store a lot of books in this electronic device. I need to set aside an amount for this from time to time. This time I have another priority. I'll let you know once I already have it.

They are a blessing as they help us to understand what theCdemands of God, society or life in general make upon us. It is not for us to determine right and wrong in an absolute sense. The Law does this for us. It is up to us how we follow the law in our lives.

Cleaning-Up for New Year

Hello folks! How was your Christmas celebration? I hope that you had wonderful and memorable one. If you have to ask me, I would say it was almost perfect. I am very thankful about it. Just giving you a short update for today. It was quite a long day for me but I am very satisfied with it. I already started to clean-up to get ready for the coming New Year. I already set aside a transformer, some cable trays, cleaning equipments and other things that we are not using everyday. We are planning to make a cabinet for all of those stuffs. I also cleaned some parts of the house especially my computer room which is full of mess. It looks better now. I will try my best to finish the clean-up before 2012 comes. Two or three days more to go.

In her song of praise to the Lord, Mary extols His goodness, mercy and kindness, particularly to the poor and the helpless. God had done extraordinary things in her life in making Mary the mother of His Son, Jesus. Yet it had come at a great cost and Mary was willing to make herself unreservedly available to the Lord and to His purposes. If we, too, want God to do great things for us, we must follow Mary’s example of self-offering and abandonment to God.

December 10, 2011, It was Saturday night. I and my friend Joy was in Layos Golf Hotel near Toledo, Spain spending some days vacation there. We had a lovely day trip to Madrid that day. After taking our dinner at the hotel, we proceeded to our room. I was busy packing my luggage that night while my friend was checking her emails. She told me that one of her friends sent her a very inspiring words about friendship. She forwarded it to my email add and honestly, I just read this message tonight.

I am sharing it here before I will delete it. This is wonderful!

Hats For Summer and Winter Times

It feels good to be backed home again. Sad to say, I am quite sick right now, having some colds. I guess it is because of the change of weather, from not so cold Spain to very cold Germany. It was a wonderful trip we had recently to the "Land of Sunshine". I needed some Hats during that trip. It was not really very cold in Spain especially in Granada, Seville and Cordoba. Only in Madrid was quite cold but not so cold as in Germany. How I miss the sunshine in Spain. In my next visit, I would want it in summer time so that I can also wear summer hats. Good to know that I already have a collection of both summer and winter hats. I don't need anything at the moment. How about you?

Confession and belief support each other. When we speak out our faith, it is confirmed and strengthened. So it is a good idea to have some key faith-building Scriptures written out on some cards or on our cell phones so that we can read and speak them out during the day. It is a great way to strengthen our faith and affirm our trust in God for His help and blessings.

Romans 10:9-18

9 Brothers and sisters: If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For one believes with the heart and so is justified, and one confesses with the mouth and so is saved. 11 For the scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, enriching all who call upon him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” 14 But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? Let us also carry in our hearts the compassion of Christ for those lost in sin and darkness.

Daily Inspiration- Isaiah 30:19-21, 23-26

The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives is like having a personal trainer in our spiritual life who is always with us to counsel and guide us. He speaks into our hearts and suggests what we should do in different situations. We can either ignore this gentle voice or obey Him. If we ignore Him, His voice will get weaker and weaker until we fail to hear Him. He never makes demands on us but invites us to respond to Him. Let us be attentive and obedient to His voice so that we can benefit from His counsel.

Isaiah 30:19-21, 23-26

19 Thus says the LORD, Go, the Holy One of Israel: O people of Zion, who dwell in Jerusalem, no more will you weep; he will be gracious to you when you cry out, as soon as he hears he will answer you. 20 The Lord will give you the bread you need and the water for which you thirst. Daily Inspiration- Luke 21:34-36

Again, Jesus gives us a warning that a time of great trial and persecution will come upon the people of the earth. We Christians need to be alert and faithful to our call of discipleship and not get caught up in drunkenness and immorality. Some people think that they can live an immoral life when they are young and then turn to God when they are old. This is a great mistake. They put themselves in danger of eternal damnation by their presumption on the grace of God.

Luke 21:34-36

34 Jesus said to his disciples: “Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy from carousing and drunkenness and the anxieties of daily life, and that day catch you by surprise 35 like a trap. For that day will assault everyone who lives on the face of the earth. 36 Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”

Business Plan

Hello folks! The first week of December is finally here. Its seems that I am quite busy with some things that needs to be done. I need to finish packing my baggage for a trip to Spain. Tonight I will be going to a party and need to prepare some food. Tomorrow will also be a busy be. Me and friends will be watching a movie.

The past weeks, we have been thinking of a business plan. There are things that we need to consider about that. The plan is to open a restaurant or a food kiosk. If this plan will materialize we surely need some kitchen equipments and furniture. There are used restaurant equipment for sale that I saw online. It is not expensive and are still presentable. For a start, I believed it is a good idea. Besides buying it will save us some money. We hope that the plan will materialize. If not here in Europe, maybe in my home country.

Daily Inspiration- Daniel 7:15-27

Daniel is perplexed and disturbed by his vision of a fourth kingdom that is terrible to behold, devours the whole earth and makes war with the saints of God. This could point to a future persecution of the church as often prophesied in the Scriptures — that before Jesus returns, there will be a great persecution of Christians and many will be martyred for their faith. Of course, in many lands, Christians already suffer greatly for their faith and have to be strong in the face of much opposition. Let us seek to be faithful to the Lord at this time so that when persecution comes we may stand strong and not deny our Lord.

Daniel 7:15-27

15 I, Daniel, found my spirit anguished within its covering of flesh, and I was terrified by the visions of my mind. 16 I approached one of those present and asked him what all this meant in truth; in answer, he made known to me the meaning of the things: 17 “These four great beasts stand for four kingdoms which shall arise on the earth. 18 But the holy ones of the Most High shall receive the kingship, to possess it forever and ever.” 19 But I wished to make certain about the fourth beast, so very terrible and different from the others, devouring and crushing with its iron teeth and bronze claws, and trampling with its feet what was left; 20 about the ten horns on its head, and the other one that sprang up, before which three horns fell; about the horn with the eyes and the mouth that spoke arrogantly, which appeared greater than its fellows. 21 For, as I watched, that horn made war against the holy ones and was victorious 22 until the Ancient One arrived; judgment was pronounced in favor of the holy ones of the Most High, and the time came when the holy ones possessed the kingdom. 23 He answered me thus: “The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, different from all the others; It shall devour the whole earth, beat it down, and crush it. 24 The ten horns shall be ten kings rising out of that kingdom; another shall rise up after them, different from those before him, who shall lay low three kings. 25 He shall speak against the Most High and oppress the holy ones of the Most High, thinking to change the feast days and the law. Losing Patience

Patience is a gift and I always admire people who have a lot of patience. It depends on the situation, I can have a lot of patience also. I also admit that sometimes, I can't also hold my patience. Sometimes when I am using my old desktop, I amd losing my patience because it is processing very slow. Good to know that last year, I ordered one of the discount desktops I found online. I am quite happy and satisfied with it. It is processing faster and I can do a lot of stuffs online especially when blogging.

I just hope that I can have more patience in me so that I can continue to understand people and happenings around me. Peace to everyone!

Inspiring Advent Reading-Isaiah 63:16-17, 19; 64:2-7

The Prophet Isaiah is aware of the people’s infidelities and unfaithfulness to God, yet he hopes in the goodness and mercy of God to deliver and save them. We see from this text that even repentance and conversion are God’s gifts to us. We are helpless and totally lost without God’s help. We should never lose hope in God for He is our Father who tenderly watches over us, His children, lest we stray too far.

Isaiah 63:16-17, 19; 64:2-7

16 You, LORD, are our father, our redeemer you are named forever. 17 Why do you let us wander, O LORD, from your ways, and harden our hearts so that we fear you not? Return for the sake of your servants, the tribes of your heritage. 19 Oh, that you would rend the heavens and come down,
with the mountains quaking before you, 64: 2 while you wrought awesome deeds we could not hope for, 3 such as they had not heard of from of old.No ear has ever heard, no eye ever seen, any God but you doing such deeds for those who wait for him. 4 Would that you might meet us doing right, that we were mindful of you in our ways! Beauty Products

I believed everyone wants to always look beautiful especially on how we dress and look. I believed almost women want it too. There is nothing wrong with it..I mean staying well-groomed and presentable all the time. In fact, there are beauty products that will make you more beautiful. For example, others are using eyelash growth products to make their lashes look longer and attractive. I am using it too especially during special occasions. I went this morning to a department store to buy one of the beauty products they are selling there. It is a kind of face powder that I am love to use and I am quuite satisfied with it.

You always have to remember, the true beauty is what's inside you and if you are beautiful inside and out, then you are almost perfect. Take care folks!

Advent is a time for us to reassess our lives of discipleship and to make necessary changes. The priests wear purple vestments to symbolize that this is a season of conversion. Am I alert and attentive to the action and voice of the Holy Spirit in my life? Am I growing in love of God and my neighbor? Am I becoming more sensitive or less sensitive to sin in my life? These questions can help us take stock and see how we are advancing in our spiritual walk. Let us use this season of Advent to renew our spiritual vigor and love for God.

The Hotel Restaurant in Sarimsakli, Turkey

It is always nice to remember the beautiful and interesting trips we had in life. It is a journey of knowing new country, its people and its culture. Our trip to Turkey two months ago was a wonderful one. One of the hotels we stayed in was located in Sarimsakli. I can't remember at this moment the exact name of that hotel restaurant. The food were great. I belived it is because of its good Restaurant System. I felt in love with the beauty of Turkey. It is a land that can also offer a lot to every tourist and visitor.

Sarimsakli is actually a town in the Ayvalik District of Balikesir Province in Western Turkey. Due to its considerable production of the Alliaceae plant, its is called as the "land of garlic" which Sarimsakli really means.

Ready for Winter

This is the time of the year that we need to wear warm clothes. Winter is around the corner and outside is already freezing cold. As we were cleaning and arranging our attic last Wednesday, I am very happy because I finally found my leather winter boots. Not the same with the justin boots but it is enough to keep your feet warm when walking outside during winter. Imagine I am trying to find it for almost 5 years. It still looks good and I am really happy.My friend was telling me last time that I am a shoes collector. She saw a lot of winter boots and shoes with different styles, colors, textures and materials in our house. I don't really need a new one this winter. I believed ss I have enough. What do you think with fifteen pairs of winter shoes?

I am ready for winter. All my winter clothes, jackets, gloves, caps and hats and other winter accessories are very ready now. How about you? Keep warm in this cold weather peeps!

It is always a nice feeling when your child, niece, nephew, husband or wife or even a friend's son or daughter garnered an award for an extraordinary or excellent job he or she had done. I could still remember back during my school days when my parents use to always go up to the stage to give me my awards and recognitions. This is true especially during my elementary grades when I always got first honors and graduated as the Valedictorian of the whole graduating class. I could still remember the ribbons, medals, plaques and certifications that I had. I even brought some of these with me here in Europe as remembrance of all the hard work that I done during those times. It is worth remembering and I know that my parents are very proud of what I am now. Those are such wonderful memories and blessings.

There Are Treasures In Your Trials

I’m not just a preacher. I’m also an entrepreneur. And I teach people how to be entrepreneurs. Here’s what I noticed. I have yet to meet a successful entrepreneur whose is a pessimist. Honest! All the successful people I know are optimists. They have bushels of hope in their hearts.

Happy All Saints Day

All Saints' Day (in the Roman Catholic Church officially the Solemnity of All Saints and also called All Hallows or Hallowmas[3]), often shortened to All Saints, is a solemnity celebrated on 1 November by parts of Western Christianity, and on the first Sunday after Pentecost in Eastern Christianity, in honour of all the saints, known and unknown.

CALLED TO HOLINESS

We begin this month of “prayers for the dead” by celebrating the lives of saints who have gone before us. Each year, the Church gives us the Gospel of the Beatitudes. Jesus is the New Moses who ascends the mountain to speak out the necessary attitudes to be able to follow Him. Every saint has followed Jesus in his lifetime and now receives his just reward. Where they go, we hope to follow.

The Beatitudes are the very heart of Jesus expressed to us in His life and ministry. As Jesus declares the blessedness of such people, He is stating that those who are obedient and live out these beatitudes are deeply joyful and experience well-being. It is more than just being happy. Blessedness points to an interior attitude of heart, mind and body. As Rabbi, Jesus takes His seat and teaches the disciples the following beatitudes — a common position of the Jewish Rabbi. As we reflect upon His words, it seems a tall order to follow.

Being poor, meek, mournful, hungry, thirsty and persecuted are, in fact, ways of blessedness or fullness of well-being. It is a stark contrast to what the world teaches us to follow. The world teaches us to compete, strive, achieve and succeed. These are all exceptional qualities of a human being. However, we must consider these in the light of Jesus’ teaching. Otherwise, they are folly.

All of us are called to be saints. The saints we remember today were very normal people like us. However, the saint is a sinner open to the transcendent grace and power of the Lord. Their weakness is transformed and sanctified. They seek to follow Jesus not counting the cost. Think of your own patron saint. Did they fit these criteria of the Beatitudes? Seek their intercession today so that you would be a person of the Beatitudes. Fr. Brian Steele, MGL

You are a saint by virtue of your baptism. How do you live up to that privilege?

Daily Inspiration- Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14

In his vision of heaven, John the Beloved sees a huge multitude of saints holding palm branches and worshipping the Lamb who was slain for their sins. We are told there were 144,000 of them. Some have thought this was an actual number. However, in the Book of Revelation, numbers have a symbolic, not literal, meaning. The number 12 relates to the 12 tribes of Israel and also the 12 Apostles. So, 144, being 12 x 12, means the totality of the people of God. On this special feast, we honor all the hidden saints who are now in heaven, glorified and worshipping the Lamb.

Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14

2 I. John, saw another angel come up from the East, holding the seal of the living God. He cried out in a loud voice to the four angels who were given power to damage the land and the sea, 3 “Do not damage the land or the sea or the trees until we put the seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God.” 4 I heard the number of those who had been marked with the seal, one hundred and forty-four thousand marked from every tribe of the children of Israel: 9 After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue. Just Looking around

The golden October is almost ending. I can already see the beautiful and colorful surroundings when driving around. This afternoon, I asked hubby to company me for a short walk in the forest. He hesitated at first because he wanted to hear live the football game over the radio. Finally, he decided to accompany me. The scenery inside the forest was so nice. It truly fascinates me..the nature is truly fascinating.

Now, I am in front of my pc writing this post and looking and browsing different sites. I should be browsing about Halloween costumes that are on sale now but I accidentally clicked prom dresses on sale. I remember the good old days about a prom party.

Today is quite a relaxing day for me. I woke-up very late at noon time. Hubby is currently watching his fave football games. Tomorrow, we will surely be looking around again. Thanks to good friends for the invitation to Frankenstein castle. This will be a Halloween treat for me.

Visit to Schierling

It's been more than a month now since our last visit in Schierling. We had been planning to visit there since two weeks ago but due to busy schedules, it was always postponed. Finally as hubby got off today, we proceeded to Schierling after his important appointment. We were quite excited because we will be seeing again a beautiful baby. We brought some presents for the baby. I also packed with me two nimh rechargeable batteries and my camera. I was taking pictures of the baby again. Baby Hanna is almost two months old now. She is a very cute and a beautiful baby. I will surely see her grow up.

There are people who get bored when they stay at home the whole day. Not for me! I always find things to do at home. In fact, sometimes even if I stay at home the whole day, it is still not enough because there are just a lot of things that makes me busy. In short my home entertainment are doing the daily household chores like cooking, cleaning and washing clothes and dishes. I also do scrapbooking reading books especially travel ones and gardening. More on that, I am always busy writing in my travel sites and other blogs. For more entertainment in the house, I want to buy another external hard drive only for videos and movies. I want to download video once I buy a new external hard drive. This gadget is one of the best ways to store your files, music, photos, videos and movies.

It seems that the sun is shining outside. I wish to experience more sunshine in this cold Autumn time. Have a lovely day to all!

Polish Pottery

Some might don't like Polish pottery, also called Polish stoneware, because it is quite heavy. I love this pottery and I admire every potter who makes it. There are a lot of pottery manufacturers in Boleslawiec. It is a town in Poland which is famous for pottery making. During my second visit, I finally remember to buy a basket. During our visit we also had the chance to have a little sightseeing in their town. Most shops were already closed that afternoon and we were not able to do window shopping. I am wondering if I can find nipple tassels in one of their shops there.

Back to Polish pottery, I noticed that most of it are mostly painted with blue colors in different shapes, designs and usage. I just find their stoneware unique, one of the reasons why I bought some during my visits. Don't miss buying one as a souvenir when visiting Boleslawiec.

Job Application

Hi to everyone. How have you been folks? I hope everything went well for the past days. I just realized that today is the last day of September. I am hoping that everybody had a wonderful month. As for me, I can't complain despite life's imperfection.

Before I flew to Turkey for a short vacation this month, I received the reply about the job applications I sent last month. As usual, the two applications were rejected. One of the jobs I applied for is about Health Technologist Jobs. Since this is not my field, I was immediately rejected. The second application is about admin job. I am qualified but the employer has higher preference.

Despite of the results, I did not really feel bad about it. I believed these jobs were not meant for me. There might be better ones waiting out there. One thing I can only say, I am a happy jobless for more than five years now. Being a housewife is not that bad and I love it.

Sometimes, we just need inspiring messages like these to help us clear things such a confusion, grudges with friends, quarrel with hubby, anger, hurt feelings, hatred and anything that make us unhappy.

Praying for those people who have anger and hatred in their hearts!

"Do You Have A Forgiving Attitude?

Forgiveness is difficult. And confusing.

Before I share with you my main message, let me clarify two things that confuse a lot of people.

Forgiveness And Friendship Require 2 Decisions

First clarification: Forgiveness is different from Friendship.
When you forgive someone, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be friends with him again.

For example, when a business partner steals from you, you should forgive him. But that doesn’t mean you’ll take him back as your business partner again. That’s a separate decision you’ll have to make.

When your drunkard husband beats you up regularly, you should forgive him. But that doesn’t mean you should take him back as a husband again.

One friend comes to mind: “Liza”. When I got to know her, her husband beat her up for the past 21 years. Her husband's favorite tool of torture was his hammer. When he was angry, he’d pick up his hammer, push her hand to the wall, and hammer her fingers to bloody pulp.

I asked her, “Why did you stay with this monster for 21 years?” She said, “Because he asked me for his forgiveness.” I told her, “Don’t confuse forgiveness with stupidity. Forgive him, yes, but run away as far as possible from that monster.”

She said, “But I love him…”

I told her, “No, you don’t love him. You need him. You’re attached to him. But you don’t love him. If you really loved him, you would have walked out of that horrible marriage a long time ago. By staying there, you allowed him to continue in his sin of violence.”

Let me say it again. Forgiveness and friendship are two different things that require two different decisions.

Don’t confuse the two.
Second clarification. Please don’t be shocked with what I’m going to say next…"

Part II: Do You Have A Forgiving Attitude?

Don’t Rush To Forgive If The Wound Is Grave

When the hurt is very deep, don’t forgive right away.

When someone hurts you deeply, God doesn’t require that you forgive right away. When your husband commits adultery, or when an uncle molests you, or when a friend betrays you…, God doesn’t require that you drive out your feelings of anger “right now”.

Why? Because we’re not robots with push buttons on our chest.

In fact, God knows that we need to get angry for awhile as part of our healing.

By getting angry, we restore our dignity. By getting angry, we love ourselves. By getting angry, we say, “What you did to me was terribly wrong. You violated me.”

I repeat: The process of getting angry (for awhile) is part of your healing.

Anger is like a medicine with an expiration date. Before that expiration date, anger is medicine. After that expiration date, anger becomes poison.

At the right time, God will ask you to surrender your anger.

Which now brings me to our main message for today.

Goal: To Have A Forgiving Attitude

Today, my goal isn’t just to encourage you to forgive those who have wronged you in the past.

Today, my goal is much more ambitious than that.

My goal is to encourage you to develop a forgiving attitude.

Forgiveness is an isolated act. But a forgiving attitude is who you are normally, usually, regularly…

My belief? If you want to be happy in your life, you need to have a forgiving attitude.

Why?

Because you live amidst imperfect people.

You were born into an imperfect family, with imperfect parents, with imperfect siblings.

Announcement: You’re imperfect too! (Unless you happen to be a perfect alien from a perfect planet.)

Everyday, you’ll get hurt. Someone will step on your toe. Someone will stab your back. Someone will kick your behind. Someone will prick your pride. Someone will slander your name.

That’s why Jesus said, Forgive seventy times seven. (Matthew 18:21-22) That number is a Biblical symbol for “forever”.

Believe me, if you don’t have a forgiving attitude, you can’t enjoy any imperfect relationship.

Do You Have An Unforgiving Attitude?

Here’s what I know. A person who has an unforgiving attitude is an unhappy person.

For example, when a waiter brings the wrong order, does it ruin your entire day?

When a cashier makes a mistake, because she’s new, or she’s nervous, or she’s having her own family problems—Do you roll up your eyeballs and sigh a sigh of exasperation?

When a sister borrows your blouse without your permission and doesn’t return it washed and folded, do you fume for the rest of the day?

When a friend forgets to say “thank you” for her birthday gift, do you nurse a grudge until your next birthday?

Here’s the crazy thing about unforgiveness. You can be moping and grumbling at home, while the person you’re angry with could be sunbathing in Boracay.

Face it. Unforgiveness isn’t very wise.

Be Selfish: Have A Forgiving Attitude!

A wise man said, Forgiveness is first of all a gift you give yourself. Forgiveness is almost a selfish act—because of the incredible blessing the forgiver gets!

Imagine this scenario.

You’re so angry at someone, you decide to buy Triple-X poison from the drugstore. Upon reaching home, you drink the entire bottle yourself! And then you hope that the person who offended you dies because of the poison.

Huh?

Pretty insane, right?

But that’s the insanity of the unforgiving attitude.

I know of a woman who caught her husband having many affairs. It totally devastated her. It was such a deep wound, her bitterness slowly killed her body. She had cancer and after 2 years passed away. What happened to her husband? Still with his many girlfriends.

My friend is wiser.

She had a business partner who stole from her P8 Million. She thought it was the end of the world. She’d go to me at our weekly Feast, asking me to pray for her.

And in her heart, she made a decision to forgive her business partner. She refused to remain stuck. She didn’t spend time thinking how to avenge herself. She moved on.

Today, my friend has recovered from that loss—and so much more. Her God is prospering her business.

The business partner who stole from her? She heard that she was in jail—because of another crime.

My friend did the unthinkable: She visited her in jail.

Move On!

Many years ago, I heard through the grapevine that I was being accused of using people’s donations to buy myself a car.

That hurt. (If I used the donations to buy myself a car, I would have bought a Rolls Royce.)

I later learned that a friend had spread that gossip.

But on that same day, I forgave that friend in my heart.

Why? Because I was being “selfish”.

Here was my logic: It’s bad enough that he hurt me once. Why let him hurt me again (and again and again…) by rewinding the tapes of his sin in my mind?

Friend, if someone has hurt you—don’t let that hurt ruin your life. Don’t let a betrayal, or divorce, or adultery, or unfaithfulness destroy your life and your destiny.

Forgive and move on with your life!

Forgiveness means you won’t invest emotional energy to your hurt anymore.

Some people don’t do that.

They like rewinding the tapes. They like reviewing the hurt in their imagination. They like opening an old wound and puncturing it again. And again. And again.

What’s the Solution?

To heal our unforgiving attitude, we must ask, “What is the root of unforgiveness?”

From experience, our inability to forgive others comes from our inability to forgive ourselves. Yes, it can be that simple.

If you don’t receive God’s mercy, you can’t give mercy to others. The Bible says, Forgive as the Lord forgave you. (Colossians 3:13).

I remember Felipe.

Felipe told me he has a hard time forgiving others.

But as we continued talking, I found out something very glaring about him that he may not have noticed. When he himself does something wrong, he becomes very miserable. He doesn’t allow himself to be happy.

In other words, he punishes himself.

Even if Felipe asks for God’s forgiveness, (and verbally, he’ll tell you he believes that God forgives him), he’ll subconsciously find a way to pay for his sins. By not being happy. By suffering.

He wants to pay for his sins. He demands it upon himself.

Result? When others offend him (and he gets easily offended), he uses the same standards. He wants them to pay up as well.

There are still isolated Catholics who practice flogging. (Other religions practice this too.) These penitents whip themselves as a way of punishing themselves for their sins.

I’ve met Christians who no longer carry a physical whip, but they carry an invisible whip. When they make a mistake, they whip themselves “bloody” in their emotions. They condemn themselves. They walk through life depressed. They accept all suffering as just rewards for their sins—even suffering that’s totally unrelated to their mistakes.

They say they believe God loves them. They even sing about God’s Love. They’ll even tell you that they believe God has forgiven them. But internally, they insist on paying for their sins.

Friend, if there’s one thing I want you to learn today, it is this: Stop trying to pay for your sins!

Rest in His mercy. Let God pay for your sins.

God Desires Mercy, Not Sacrifice

From experience, it’s these people that have an unforgiving attitude.

Because one cannot give what one has not really received.

God says, I desire mercy, not sacrifice. (Matthew 9:13)

But there are people who like sacrifice. They want to keep sacrificing to God for their sins. And worse, they want others to sacrifice for their sins.

But God wants mercy.

I believe the root of all unforgiveness is fear.

Fear that if you don’t let “them” pay for their mistakes, you’ll never get back what you lost.

Not understanding that these people can’t pay anyway.

Here’s the big problem: Only God can pay you.

I was molested as a child. But I’ve long realized that my molesters can’t pay me back. They can’t return to my innocence. They can’t return to me the 20 years of agony.

But God can.

Let God Pay You

God saw you when you were offended. Hurt. Abandoned.

If someone stole from you, or hurt you, or offended you, read this verse: God says, Your shame and disgrace are ended. You will live in your own land. And your wealth will be doubled; Your joy will last forever. (Isaiah 61:7)

What is God saying? He’s telling you, “Let me handle your case. Put the situation in my hands. I’ll see to it that you’ll receive double than what you’ve lost. I’ll see to it that you’ll gain back what was stolen from you.”

As long as you let go and forgive, God will be your vindicator.
He’ll make your wrongs right.
He’ll return what the enemy has stolen.
He’ll even the score.

Remember Job? Job’s friends were trying to comfort him, but they said some hurtful things to him too.

Look at what the Bible says: Then, after Job had prayed for his three friends, the Lord made him prosperous again and gave him twice as much as he had had before. (Job 42:10)

If you forgive and pray for your enemies, get ready to be very blessed!
This was the story of my friend Mark.

Mark lent P1 Million to his business partner. It was a huge amount for my friend. But this partner ran away. This devastated Mark. It wasn’t only the money but the betrayal.

But instead of being bitter, staying at home, thinking of ways to get back at him, my friend Mark decided to expand his small business. Instead of spending his time cursing his enemy, he spent his time blessing his business.

After one year, Mark is now earning P1 Million every month. The exact money he lost, he earns now in a snap.
And what happened to the man who stole his money? Through the grapevine, Mark found out that the guy was still financially hard up.
You don’t have to see to it that justice is done. Because the universe is governed by the Law of Reciprocity. What you sow, you reap.

Read carefully:

Unforgiveness is taking matters in your hands.
Forgiveness is taking matters into God’s hands.

The Path Of Blessings

Let me define forgiveness for you: Being kind beyond what is reasonable.

Yes, forgiveness is insane.

On October 2, 2006, thirty-two-year old Charles Roberts entered an Amish school with an automatic rifle.

He tied up the legs of schoolgirls and prepared to shoot them, execution style.

The oldest hostage, a thirteen-year-old, asked Roberts to “shoot me and release the others.” But he didn’t listen to her. He fired at all of them with 400 rounds of ammunition.

He killed five girls.
When the police stormed into the school building, Charles Roberts shot and killed himself.
Why did he shoot the girls? He told them before shooting, “I’m angry at God for taking my little daughter.”
Immediately after the massacre, more than fifty news crews came into that small town. And what they witnessed was unbelievable.

After the funeral of their daughters, the families of these girls visited the funeral of the family of their murderer.
Why did they go there? They went there to offer words of forgiveness and consolation to his widow and her three children.
As if that wasn’t shocking enough, these families raised money for their murderer’s orphaned family.

Insanity.

Why did the Amish do this unexplainable thing?

Because the Amish are Christians. They follow the Bible when it says, “Love does not keep a record of wrongs.”

Yes, even if that wrong was killing their little daughter.

This is the mark of God in your life. When you treat well the people who don’t deserve to be treated well.

I have my little story of forgiveness.

In the past 30+ years of ministry, I’ve had my critics. Some criticized with love. Some criticized with venom.

Someone told me, “Bo, better read this blog. This guy calls you the devil’s servant.” I read his articles. It was true, the writer didn’t like me very much. He said I brought a lot of people to hell.

This is what I did: Instead of getting angry, I prayed blessings for him and his family.

When I did that, I cannot describe to you how free and happy I felt. And I also felt that God’s river of blessings began to flow more into my life.

It’s now your turn.

Have a forgiving attitude.

And bless all those who have offended you.

And believe that you’ll receive double what you have lost.

Beauty

"Beauty lies on the eyes of the beholder". Is this right folks? I can't exactly remember the saying..but anyway, I believed most of us know what and where we can find the real beauty of a person. Some might be looking on the outer beauty but the inner beauty of the person is the most important one. When you are beautiful inside and out, then you are almost perfect.

Of course, everybody wants to be always beautiful inside and out, but sometimes we don't notice that we commit mistakes, thus making us imperfect. How I wish I am perfect but I am not. How I wish I am beautiful inside and out but I am not. I probably need a herstyler to be perfectly beautiful. Just kidding folks.... These are just words to remind us that we are all not perfect. I wish you all a lovely weekend ahead!

Just a Conversation

It is always nice to have some conversation either with a friend, your neighbor, a colleague, your husband, sister, brother, family or any people you meet on the road. I had some conversation with hubby last night. I was telling him that if I win the lottery he can immediately retire and I want to buy an rv van so that we can drive anywhere we want especially in Europe. Oppsss, I'm dreaming again. I also told him that I don't want to do any rv loans. Besides nobody will approve it because I am jobless. I did try my luck again for this coming Saturday. I will see if I will be given the chance to win again. Yes, I already won in the lottery around four times already but the highest I think was 25.00 Euros only...better than nothing. At least I keep on trying.

KNOWING JESUS , KNOWING OURSELVES

In order to know who we are in God’s eyes, we need to first get to know Jesus as it is in and through Him that we exist on at least two levels. God created the world in the beginning through His word — He spoke and it came to be. Jesus is the Word of God. It is through Him that all things live and move and have their being. Secondly, we have been saved by the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. We have been recreated in Him.

We owe our lives to Jesus twice. In a sense, it is even more often than this. Each time we receive His forgiveness for our sins, we move from the realm of sin and death into His presence, a place of truth and holiness and life. When Jesus asks His disciples as to who people think He is, what He is really doing is challenging them to make a choice. He wants them to know who He really is to them because when persecution comes, this will be a very large determining factor whether or not they will remain faithful to Him.

Our Christian life is full of difficult and challenging situations. It is imperative that we know who we are in God’s eyes to be able to combat the temptations of sin. It is equally important to understand our identity in Christ as the world will make all sorts of offers to us about fame, wealth and so on. Only if we are firmly rooted in our faith will we be able to resist them until the end. Sin has a way of persisting in its goal and if we are at all uncertain of who we are in Christ, then it will take advantage of that uncertainty.

So, it is worth taking the time to get to know Jesus through prayer, the Scriptures and the inspiration of the lives of saints if we want to protect ourselves from the dangers of sin and also to give our knowledge and experience a better foundation from which to share the Gospel.

Am I sure of my identity as a disciple of Jesus or do I still have to grow in this?

Friend's Request

Hello folks! I am back here again. It seems that I am quite busy for the past days. I just want to finish some jobs before I fly again. I hope I can do everything before I go for a short trip.

Back to the main topic. This was about a friend's request some year's ago. He wanted me to contact an Energy speaker seller here in Europe. I really wanted to give his request but I just simply can't. In short, he want me to buy some speakers for him but I can't afford its price. Sometimes, we just can't give all friends' requests especially when we don't have the resources to provide it. Sorry my friend. Probably when I win a million in a lottery..lol!

THE PRICE OF A MIRACLE

This is a beautiful story to tell. I had it in my inbox for some months and decided to share it here before deleting it. Here is the story;

A little girl went to her bedroom and pulled a glass jelly jar from its hiding place in the closet.

She poured the change out on the floor and counted it carefully. Three times, even The total had to be exactly perfect. No chance here for mistakes.

Carefully placing the coins back in the jar and twisting on the cap, she slipped out the back door and made her way 6 blocks to Rexall's Drug Store with the big red Indian Chief sign above the door.

She waited patiently for the pharmacist to give her some attention, but he was too busy at this moment. Tess twisted her feet to make a scuffing noise. Nothing. She cleared her throat with the most disgusting sound she could muster. No good. Finally she took a quarter from her jar and banged it on the glass counter. That did it!

'And what do you want?' the pharmacist asked in an annoyed tone of voice. I'm talking to my brother from Chicago whom I haven't seen in ages,' he said without waiting for a reply to his question.

'Well, I want to talk to you about my brother,' Tess answered back in the same annoyed tone. 'He's really, really sick...and I want to buy a miracle.'

'I beg your pardon?' said the pharmacist.

'His name is Andrew and he has something bad growing inside his head and my Daddy says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?'

'We don't sell miracles here, little girl. I'm sorry but I can't help you,' the pharmacist said, softening a little.

'Listen, I have the money to pay for it... If it isn't enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.'

The pharmacist's brother was a well dressed man. He stooped down and asked the little girl, 'What kind of a miracle does your brother need?'

' I don't know,' Tess replied with her eyes welling up. I just know he's really sick and Mommy says he needs an operation. But my Daddy can't pay for it, so I want to use my money.'

'How much do you have?' asked the man from Chicago

'One dollar and eleven cents,' null answered barely audibly.

'And it's all the money I have, but I can get some more if I need to.'

'Well, what a coincidence,' smiled the man.. 'A dollar and eleven cents---the exact price of a miracle for little brothers. '

He took her money in one hand and with the other hand he grasped her mitten and said 'Take me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let's see if I have the miracle you need.'

That well dressed man was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neuro-surgery. The operation was completed free of charge and it wasn't long until Andrew was home again and doing well.

Mom and Dad were happily talking about the chain of events that had led them to this place.

'That surgery,' her Mom whispered 'was a real miracle. I wonder how much it would have cost?'

Tess smiled. She knew exactly how much a miracle cost..one dollar and eleven cents....plus the faith of a little child.

In our lives, we never know how many miracles we will need.

A miracle is not the suspension of natural law, but the operation of a higher law. I know you'll keep the ball moving!

Hello folks! How are you doing? I hope everyone had a wonderful first weekend of September. Yes, I did and I am very happy about it. I had a weekend trip with friends and I am thankful that we truly had great time. I should not be going but I cannot decline my friends' invitation to go with them. I always have invitations of all sorts from graduation invitations to birthdays, dining-out, thanksgiving, etcetera. I am very grateful for having good friends around.

I guess, I am very tired right now. I just came back tonight from a weekend trip. I need to go bed now. My eyes just wanted to close and relax at the moment. Another invitation again tomorrow. Once again, thanks to all dear friends out there!

Welcome to the World

I was working in the garden yesterday when suddenly our neighbor greeted me "good morning". We had a bit conversation until I mentioned that Dani is giving birth soon next month. Mr. K will be a grandfather soon. Yesterday at noontime, I heard the phone rang and I immediately picked it up. It was Dani and she said that she already gave birth to a baby girl. After I mentioned it to Mr. K, he was a bit surprised and got so excited. There will be a girl soon who will be playing in our garden. I need to think and buy some toys for her to play. I also wanted one of those trampolines connecticut that I saw online. I am quite excited to see the newly born. This coming weekend, we will be visiting Dani and her baby girl. Welcome to the world Hanah! Congratulations Dani and family!

Gospel Inspiration- 16:13-23

Daily Nourishment- Numbers 20:1-13

The Israelites again complain to Moses that they have no water and they again want to go back to slavery in Egypt. Had they obeyed God, they would have been on their way to conquering the Promised Land. Instead they had to suffer 40 years of walking around the wilderness. Let us be people of faith and not people who continually complain to God.

Numbers 20:1-13

1 The whole congregation of the children of Israel arrived in the desert of Zin in the first month, and the people settled at Kadesh. It was here that Miriam died, and here that she was buried. 2 As the community had no water, they held a council against Moses and Aaron. 3 The people contended with Moses, exclaiming, “Would that we too had perished with our kinsmen in the LORD’s presence! 4 Why have you brought the LORD’s community into this desert where we and our livestock are dying? 5 Why did you lead us out of Egypt, only to bring us to this wretched place which has neither grain nor figs nor vines nor pomegranates? Here there is not even water to drink!” 6 But Moses and Aaron went away from the assembly to the entrance of the meeting tent, where they fell prostrate. St. John the Baptist died because he was unafraid to tell King Herod that in taking his brother’s wife he was committing adultery. Here we see the qualities of a true servant of God and the type of character that we desperately need in the world today when so many leaders seek only popularity and fame rather than following what is morally right.

Matthew 14:1-12

1 Herod the tetrarch heard of the reputation of Jesus 2 and said to his servants, “This man is John the Baptist. He has been raised from the dead; that is why mighty powers are at work in him.” 3 Now Herod had arrested John, bound him, and put him in prison on account of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip, 4 for John had said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” 5 Although he wanted to kill him, he feared the people, for they regarded him as a prophet. 6 But at a birthday celebration for Herod, the daughter of Herodias performed a dance before the guests and delighted Herod 7 so much that he swore to give her whatever she might ask for. 8 Prompted by her mother, she said, “Give me here on a platter the head of John the Baptist.” 9 The king was distressed, but because of his oaths and the guests who were present, he ordered that it be given, 10 and he had John beheaded in the prison. 11 His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who took it to her mother. 12 His disciples came and took away the corpse and buried him; and they went and told Jesus.

Daily Nourishment- Leviticus 25:1, 8-17

God’s economic policy for His people was radical. On the 50th year, all debts were to be cancelled and all land and property was to return to its original owners. All slaves were to be set free as well. The huge disparity in wealth that exists today is not God’s will. We all have a responsibility to ensure that we pay our workers more than the basic wage so that they can live with true dignity as children of God.

Leviticus 25:1, 8-17

1 The LORD said to Moses on Mount Sinai, 8 “Seven weeks of years shall you count — seven times seven years — so that the seven cycles amount to forty-nine years. 9 Then, on the tenth day of the seventh month let the trumpet resound; on this, the Day of Atonement, the trumpet blast shall re-echo throughout your land. 10 This fiftieth year you shall make sacred by proclaiming liberty in the land for all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when every one of you shall return to his own property, every one to his own family estate. 11 In this fiftieth year, your year of jubilee, you shall not sow, nor shall you reap the aftergrowth or pick the grapes from the untrimmed vines. 12 Since this is the jubilee, which shall be sacred for you, you may not eat of its produce, except as taken directly from the field. 13 In this year of jubilee, then, every one of you shall return to his own property. 14 Therefore, when you sell any land to your neighbor or buy any from him, do not deal unfairly. 15 On the basis of the number of years since the last jubilee shall you purchase the land from him; and so also, on the basis of the number of years for crops, shall he sell it to you. 16 When the years are many, the price shall be so much the more; when the years are few, the price shall be so much the less. Gospel Inspiration- Luke 1:39-56

The image of Mary going up to a town in Judah and being greeted with great joy by her cousin Elizabeth harps back to the story in the book of Samuel, where King David accompanied the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem. With the coming of the ark, God’s presence comes to His people. With the coming of Mary, God visited Elizabeth, and the child in her womb is filled with the Holy Spirit and leaps for joy.

Luke 1:39-56

39 Mary set out and traveled to the hill country in haste to a town of Judah, 40 where she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. 41 When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the infant leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth, filled with the Holy Spirit, 42 cried out in a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. 43 And how does this happen to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For at the moment the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the infant in my womb leaped for joy. 45 Blessed are you who believed that what was spoken to you by the Lord would be fulfilled.” 46 And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; 47 my spirit rejoices in God my savior. 48 For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. 49 The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him. 51 He has shown might with his arm, dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart. 52 He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones but lifted up the lowly. 53 The hungry he has filled with good things; the rich he has sent away empty. 54 He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy, 55 according to his promise to our fathers, to Abraham and to his descendants forever.” 56 Mary remained with her about three months and then returned to her home.

Mary Leads the Way

The celebration of the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven is a celebration of hope. We pray that the gift Mary received of being raised from the dead and into eternal life in heaven will be ours also. This is a sign of hope for us — that where she goes, we hope to go as well. What else does the Feast of the Assumption teach us?

The Assumption is all about the fulfillment of God’s promises that life in heaven is the ultimate goal of all Christians. Mary becomes the first to receive this gift just as she leads the way for us in most, if not all, aspects of the Christian life. In this way the Feast of the Assumption also indicates the deep honor in which the Catholic Church holds Mary. However, we must remember that devotion to Mary or any of the saints is not enough for one’s conversion.

Conversion and holiness are the result of the decisions we make and the actions that these decisions lead to. Jesus constantly reminds us of this fact in the Gospels where He tells us that it is not those who cry out “Lord! Lord!” who will enter the Kingdom of God, but those who do the will of His Father in heaven. In one of the occasions where He says this, Mary is present and Jesus uses her as an example in affirming that His real mothers (brothers and sisters) are those who follow the will of God, not just those who are related to Him by blood.

The challenge of discerning the will of God for our lives remains with us until we die. We cannot allow its difficulty to discourage us. We should simply redouble our efforts in seeking God’s will and then responding to it. If we are earnest in our search for God’s will, it will not take too long to discover it. God is not trying to hide His will from us!

Reflection Question:
Do I already know what is God’s will for my life? Am I responding to it in faith every day?

Holy Spirit, help me to come to know what God’s will is so that I can do my best to be obedient to it each and every day of my life.

According to the belief of Christians of the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Catholic Churches, Eastern Orthodoxy, Oriental Orthodoxy, and parts of the Anglican Communion and Continuing Anglicanism, the Assumption of Mary was the bodily taking up of the Virgin Mary into Heaven at the end of her life. The Roman Catholic Church teaches as dogma that the Virgin Mary "having completed the course of her earthly life, was assumed body and soul into heavenly glory." This doctrine was dogmatically and infallibly defined by Pope Pius XII on November 1, 1950, in his Apostolic Constitution Munificentissimus Deus. This belief is known as the Dormition of the Theotokos by the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches. In the churches which observe it, the Assumption is a major feast day, commonly celebrated on August 15. In many countries it is a Catholic Holy Day of Obligation.

In his August 15, 2004, homily given at Lourdes, Pope John Paul II quoted John 14:3 as one of the scriptural bases for understanding the dogma of the Assumption of Mary. In this verse, Jesus tells his disciples at the Last Supper, "If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also." According to Catholic theology, Mary is the pledge of the fulfillment of Christ's promise.

It is sometimes very difficult to get rid of vices. I am very thankful that I am not into it nor my husband. We just live a normal life and quite happy and contented about it. Daily Nourishment- Exodus 14:5-18

This Exodus story shows us how fear drives out faith. When the children of Israel see Pharaoh and his chariots pursuing them, they tell Moses they would have been better left in Egypt to die. Fear leads to despair and unbelief. In contrast, Moses hears the word of God for him and the people in this crisis, and then moves in obedience and faith to see God work a mighty miracle.

Exodus 14:5-18

5 When it was reported to the king of Egypt that the people had fled, Pharaoh and his servants changed their minds about them. They exclaimed, “What have we done! Birthday Wish

First of all I would like to thank all my family and friends for all the birthday greetings you sent me. Thank you so much for remembering me during my special day. The birthday and thanksgiving party last Saturday was very successful. Everybody were happy ans truly had fun. I am also very glad because most of my wishes this year came true. I might not be able to buy one of those prada sunglasses which is my birthday wish but at least I made some people happy. Instead of having it, I will go for a 5-day holiday in Vienna, Budapest and some other places in that area.

Lastly thanks to all friends who helped me during the preparation of the party and also for all those who had sent their greetings and wishes.Most of all thank you dear Lord for everything especially for giving me another year and still hoping and praying for another half decade in my life. Getting In Touch with Family and Friends

The last weekend of the month is almost approaching. The so-called "Big Day" is almost coming. I need to get ready for a lot of things before that day comes. I am also hoping to keep in touch with my family and friends before or during that day.

It is good to know that with the modern technology we have now, it is just so easy to interact and keep in touch with our loveones and friends. Taking for example the conference call services by Zip conferencing, the free yahoo messenger or skype video calling, all of these will take us nearer to anybody who is thousand miles away from us especially our family and friends. The Scribes and Pharisees demand of Jesus a sign, not because they want to believe in Him, but to challenge Him and His authority. What greater sign could God have given them than coming to them in the person of His Son? We do not need signs to have faith. Rather we should place our whole confidence in Christ for in Him all the fullness of the Godhead dwells and is given to us each time we receive holy communion.

Dining in Munich

Good morning peeps! I am quite tired and sleepy now and I believed I can no longer stay for more minutes. Before that let me share this food image before I sign-off. It was last Saturday when we visited Munich. One of the malls we visited was Oberpollinger. You can find a lot of designers shops here last Gucci, Prada, Burberry, Louis Vuitton and a lot more. We also had our dinner there. A restaurant called Le Buffet is located in the last floor of the mall. You can find a lot of foods and restaurant supplies inside. The menus varies from Asian foods to Mediterranean, German and American food. It is quite affordable. I want to go back dining there again in my next visit.

Gratuity or Annuity

Yesterday night as we had a dinner in a restaurant in Prague, Czech Republic, the waitress told us that there is an extra charge for the tip. If I am not mistaken of what I heard, she said 10% of the total bill. This is a form of gratuity but this is not voluntary because they have a certain amount that you need to pay depending on your bill.

Annuity on the other hand is totally different with gratuity. Don't be confused with it. If I say immediate annuity, I am talking about financial contract that can also refer to life insurance. If you want to have an additional income when you retire, you can purchase a so-called life annuity. This is also a form of investment because somtime in the future you can withdraw a lump-sum from your series payments.

If God loves us this much, let us entrust all our cares and concerns to Him rather than carrying them ourselves.

Bought A New Travel Gadget

What do you pack with you when you travel? I always pack important travel gadgets with me everytime I travel. One of the most important gadget I put in my bag are cameras. That is plural if you notice it because I always have three cameras with me, my Canon T2I, my compact sony digital camera and my nokia cellphone with camera. I still need one of those underwater cameras the next time I will go for a vacation back home. Since our house is just located some meters away from the sea, this underwater camera is of advantage in taking pictures underwater. Last month, I bought a new compact sony camera again. The old one I have is not anymore functioning good. I guess my cameras are enough now.

Talking About Houses

After the buffet we had this noon time in the Chinese restaurant in the next city, hubby and I decided to go for a walk. I need it because I ate more than a thousand of calories during that "eat all you can" lunch. I love especially the Mongolian barbeque. Imagine eating two plates of Asian food.

During our walk, we happened to pass the house in the neighborhood which is still under construction. It is not one of those modern steel buildings but I like how they build it. Last month, it was still a skeleton but now the walls were already done. Hubby said that it looks like a Tuscany house because of its style. He also added that our house near the beach in the Philippines looks better because of its location...lol! I just smile as hubby said that. I know he is happy after our house was built.

Last Visit to the Physical Therapist

Good day everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day. There are a lot of things to do in the house but I need to post first this quick update. I had my last appointment to the physical therapist yesterday. It was quite good but she said I need more "manual therapy" as the call it here in Germany. I have problems with my shoulder sometimes and can't sleep during the night due to pain. I hope this will get better soon. Off for some household errands now. I need to remind my sister about her medical scrubs. I hope we can have the chance to chat online later. Enjoy your day folks!

Undergoing Home Improvements

There are still a lot of home improvements that we need to do in our house. Our bathroom needs a total repair plus we need to install a new tilt and turn window . We are planning to replace our old kitchen set hopefully next year. In five years maybe, our roof needs a replacement also. We are just doing all these home improvements from time to time when finances are available.

we had a hard time during winter season especially when it is snowing hard. hopefully next winter, snow cleaning is not that hard anymore. we are currently building a garage for our cars. This was taken last December 2010.

We are currently building a garden terrace and a carport or I would say a garage. Actually these two are adjacent to each other. We found this project a priority especially during winter time. Since we don't have a garage it is very difficult for our two cars to stay outside in open air. Sometimes when you wake-up early in the morning during winter time, everything is already covered with snow. It needs more time and energy to clean it.

all the plants and flowers were gone now. This garden will be the garage. All the plants and flowers were transferred to the former parking lot. It is our new garden now.

The highlight for this year's home improvement is the terrace. I can't wait to sit on a coffee table that I am planning to buy. Since the garden terrace is huge enough, probably around 30 square meters, I am also planning to put rustic garden furniture in there.

I was asking hubby if everything will be finished before my birthday comes in August. If not, it is still fine for me. Thanks to hubby for all the patience and diligence in working on it.

Working From Home- Ways to Stay Disciplined

I am a working at home individual since four years now. A former banker who is now a blogger who loves to share her personal experiences, thoughts and opinions to the world. I find more freedom being a blogger because I can work anytime I want and I can go anywhere without asking to my boss that I need a break or holiday. Thanks to all pr jobs online where I am given the opportunity to be a boss of my own.

Working from home requires discipline and a certain mind-set. Distractions can get the better of you if you allow them to. Children in the house, a constant ringing phone from friends can get your mind off your work real fast.

1) Have a System

It is important that you have a system that makes you productive. Set aside time every day searching for additional work. Have a routine on handling paper flow. To be productive you must be organized. Once you have a system in place, stick to it. Sort out your office furniture so that it is conducive to your work – well placed, with enough space, light and a comfortable chair. Thanks to the tilted and turn windows in my computer room where I can breath fresh air and look around.

2) Prioritize the Work

We all live with deadlines. Prioritize your work in such a way so as not to miss deadlines. Not meeting targets can ruin your reputation. Turn work in before it is due. That way you become a hero in the client's eyes. This is a sure-fire method of being awarded more work. Learning to prioritize your project load is a key element in becoming disciplined.

3) Count the Pennies

It has been said that the rich know where every penny goes. Emulate the rich, know how much money is coming in, and know how much is going out. In addition, it is vital to know how you are spending your income. Know where the pennies are going. Be disciplined and spend smart. Think before you buy! Being a banker and accountant, I am quite good in spending and counting my pennies.

4) Dealing with Distractions

Working from home can have distractions, especially if you have young children. Your family needs to know what your core work hours are. You must insist that you not be bothered while you are working, unless it is an emergency. Failure to set ground rules from the start will disrupt your work process, and have you missing deadlines.

5) Reward Yourself

When you have gone the extra mile for a client, you are entitled to reward yourself for a job well done. Perhaps a day with the kids is in order, but only if your workload permits it. Whenever you have done an exceptional job be sure and pat yourself on the back. You are the boss, and this is what good bosses do.

Jesus faced all sorts of trials and opposition when proclaiming the Gospel. Let us never be discouraged to the point of giving up when trials and sufferings engulf our lives. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus and on the goal of eternal life and face them. We need never be afraid that Jesus will desert us as His promise is to be with us until the end of time. With this truth in my heart I know I can endure any trial the devil might raise against me.

John 15:18-21

18 Jesus said to his disciples: “If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own; but because you do not belong to the world, and I have chosen you out of the world, the world hates you. 20 Remember the word I spoke to you, ‘No slave is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. Short Update

Good evening folks! It is a German holiday today in the state of Bavaria, Germany. Some other German states also have holidays but not all. The holiday is called Fronleichman in German, known as Corpus Christi or the Feast of the Body of Christ. There was also a procession around our village. I also took some photos of it but don't have the chance to download it. I will share some once I am done downloading.

My birthday is also fast approaching. I wish to have that artcarved jewelry as birthday present. Time truly passes-by so quickly now. The month of June is almost over. I believed this month is a good one for me despite being sick for some days. That's all for now. This is just a short update and I wish you all a wonderful weekend ahead.

It seems that the Corinthians are far more ready to accept the Gospel than the people of Athens. Inspiring Messages- Acts 16:1-10

Paul readily responds to an invitation to preach the Gospel in a new area. I believe that he trusts that if the Holy Spirit does not want him there he will raise obstacles to Paul’s intentions and lead him elsewhere. I call this the “open door policy.” If the doors open and remain open then that is a sign that God wants you to pass through them; conversely, if a door shuts then it could be a sign that this is not the path for you. We have to be careful to test whether the door is locked and not just shut for a period of time or else we could miss the opportunity at hand.

Acts 16:1-10

1 Paul reached also Derbe and Lystra where there was a disciple named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. 2 The brothers in Lystra and Iconium spoke highly of him, 3 and Paul wanted him to come along with him. Somebody knocked at our door this morning. When I opened it, it was the postman. I already expected that my new gadget will be delivered anytime this week. The cyber shot Sony digital camera that I ordered last weekend is finally here. A friend was also asking me about psp batteries last time. I will see if the shop where I ordered my camera also sells this one. Hubby will be finally happy with this new gadget. He won't have difficulty clicking anymore. My old model of cyber shot Sony is not working good now. It is torn-out after thousands and thousands of clicks. I can still use it anyway but I need patience.

Jesus is the Master and we are His disciples. Nothing will ever change the fundamentals of this relationship. Yes, Jesus will call us His friends but that will not change the fact that He is the lead and we are to follow wherever He goes. There seems to be something in the vast majority of all people, if not all people, that wants to be a leader. Well, when it comes to our faith there is only one leader and His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

John 13:16-20

16 When Jesus had washed the disciples’ feet, he said to them: “Amen, amen, I say to you, no slave is greater than his master nor any messenger greater than the one who sent him. 17 If you understand this, blessed are you if you do it. 18 I am not speaking of all of you. Bro's Birthday

Another TGIF is here! Thanks God Its Friday! Thanks God that somebody was happy. I posted three days ago that my brother is celebrating his 31st birthday. Today, I read a message from my sister in facebook that they had fun during his birthday party. My brother said that it was one of the happiest birthday he had. I was also happy after knowing about it. I am also thinking of giving gurkha cigars to my other brother who will be celebrating his birthday on Sunday. Oh yes, I still have another brother whose birthday is coming soon. I wish I am home but maybe giving a little present and a birthday wishes are enough. Happy weekend everyone!

Inspiring Message- Acts 13:13-25

Paul is well and truly off on mission now. For the next 15 or so years he will rarely rest as he proclaims the Gospel from modern day Turkey in the East until Rome in the West. He even harbored ideas of going to Spain. It is important that we do not limit the power of the Holy Spirit through our unbelief. Let us trust that what God wants to do with us is best for us as well and so be willing to surrender to His call.

13 From Paphos, Paul and his companions set sail and arrived at Perga in Pamphylia. But John left them and returned to Jerusalem. 14 They continued on from Perga and reached Antioch in Pisidia. Beauty Appointment

It was cancelled! It should be yesterday. My friend told me last night that sometimes we, women need to treat ourselves. We can probably spend a day-spa or going to the beauty parlor to beautify and refresh ourselves. She is right and I agree with her. I seldom go to the beauty parlor because I have other ways of pampering myself. I would say by traveling, dining and shopping. The next time, I will go to a beauty shop, I would love to have a mud mask. I read online that it is good. Anyway, I am still waiting for a call if we are really going for a beauty appointment tomorrow. I guess my friend is still busy at the moment. Enjoy the rest of the day!

I have been blogging for some years now and I always love it. I love to share all my personal experiences especially about shopping, traveling, cooking, health and beauty, gardening, photography or simply writing about my daily experiences in my blogsites. Despite being in the blogosphere for some years now, I know that I still need to learn more. I also blog about my personal plans like dieting and eating the right food. I just wish that one day, I can blog about my success in trying to lose weight. Thanks to the diet and supplements reviews that I read online. It somehow gave me some insights on how to reduce excess fat and weight.

Inspiring Messages-Luke 24:35-48

The truth of the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, our Gospel faith, is something that means we have received a commission. We have been sent out to proclaim the truth we have received. Just as our faith cost us nothing in terms of receiving it, we must be prepared to do our share in bringing the same truth to the lives of all men and women. We receive the Gospel in order to be sent out to proclaim it. This is the dynamic of the Good News; this is a “must do” reality for all Christians.

Luke 24:35-48

35 The disciples of Jesus recounted what had taken place on the way and how they had come to recognize him in the breaking of the bread. 36 While they were still speaking about this, he stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.” 37 But they were startled and terrified and thought that they were seeing a ghost. 38 Then he said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do questions arise in your hearts? 39 Look at my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Off to The Gym

What a lovely sunny day we are having right now! I just love it this way. I hope I can do a bit walking today or may be some gardening. Whose off to the gym anyway.Actually it isn't me who is always off to the gym! I admire a friend who always have the will to go to the gym and do some work-outs. Sometimes, she is also accompanying her husband. I wish I can also hit the gym sometimes but due to some reasons, I just can't. Don't you know that people are using the best creatine supplements because it is said to increase energy and endurance. I also read that the dietary sources of creatine comes from fish, meat and other animal products. I guess, it is better for you to search online if you wish to know more about this supplement. Daily Reflections- Acts 3:11-26

Peter gives the leaders of the people the benefit of the doubt when he acknowledges that they probably did not realize what they were doing when they handed over Jesus to the Roman authorities. Likewise, we should be willing to give people the benefit of the doubt when we think they have wronged us. It will not hurt us to approach a conflict situation thinking the best of our opponent. In fact, we ought to go one step further and forgive them even before we ask them to admit their fault and be sorry for what they have done.

Acts 3:11-26

Accident Claim

It is almost four years now since hubby had a bike accident. Would you believe that until now he is still waiting for the insurance claim. Last week, I told him that he must follow-up our lawyer so that this case will be cleared soon. That is a reason why we hired a lawyer. Imagine almost four years of waiting? Last January, when we visited the lawyer, I mentioned to him that claiming accident's claim in the United States is faster and easier than in Germany. Please correct me if I am mistaken but these are some of the sharing of some of my American friends. There are also lawyers like the Texas Semi Accidents who can help you in claiming a fair and faster processing of your accident claims if ever you live in Texas. Anyway, they specialize in truck accident.

I don't understand why it took so long for hubby's accident claim to be processed. Can you imagine almost four years? What we can do but wait and have more patience.

The Beautiful Cathedral in Passau

This is the St. Stephan's Cathedral, called as "Dom St. Stephan" in German located in Passau, a city in Bavaria, Germany. This is so far one of the most beautiful cathedral I visited in this country. It has a baroque architecture the seat of the Catholic Bishop of Passau.

It has the largest church organ outside of United States. It is also the largest cathedral organ in the world.

The image below was taken during my third visit to this city last summer 2010. This is such and amazing work of art! St. Stephan's Cathedral is truly stunning!

The cathedral's overall plan was made by Carlo Lurago, its interior decoration by Giovanni Battista Carlone, and its frescos by Carpoforo Tencalla.

A Friend Is Getting Married

Anyone wishes to be a June bride? I know of some women and even friends and former classmates before who wish to get married in June month. You might want to know why? According to one etymology that I read before, the month of June is named after Juno, a Roman goddess which is equivalent to the Greek goddess Hera. Juno was known to be the goddess of marriage and a married couple's household. This is the reason why some and maybe a lot of women consider it good luck to be married in this month.

I have some friends who will be marrying this summer season. If I am not mistaken, one will get married next month. I am quite sure she will be wearing a beautiful wedding night lingerie after the wedding. That is quite exciting for her. I am wishing in advance all my friends good luck and more blessings in entering a new stage of life. All the best!

The cherry blossom in our garden. Sad to say that due to the past cold and freezing nights sometimes, most of its small fruits got frozen and turned brown. I am just hoping that we will get some sweet red cherry fruits this year.

Sights and Holiday Villas in Crete

It is always nice to travel and explore new places from time to time. When finances are only available all the time, I am nowhere to be found now. I might be staying in one of the holiday villas in Crete at the moment. It seems that somebody is dreaming here again. Honestly, this is one of the places I wish to visit in Greece. I am reminded by a friend who once visited this island some years ago. She said that it is one of the beautiful islands in Greece.

I still have a lot of travel wishlist for 2011. I am very glad that I had the chance to visit some of it the past months. To name a few are; Monte Carlo in Monaco, Nice and Cannes in France, Cinque Terre and San Remo in Italy, Berlin, Boleslawiec in Poland and some other more to come in a few months. Just awhile ago, I was browsing on apartments in Puerto Pollensa. It is also called as Puerto Pollenca, a lovely town in the north-eastern part of Mallorca in Spain. This is also one of my travel wishlist.

Let me concentrate now with some of the beautiful sights I wish to see in Crete. For all you know, this island is the largest and most populous of the Greek islands.

Heraklion Archaeological Museum- this is a very historical museum since its houses the most important finds from Minoan civilisation. The excavations across the island of Crete are also stored here.

Gramvousa- if you love the beach, this inhabited island is perfect for you. You can also see some splendid old fortress here.

The Minoan Palace of Knossos- this is the landmark of Crete. It is the site of the most important and best known Minoan palace complex in this island. There are legends that are connected to this place such as the story of Daidalos and Ikaros and the myth of the Labyrinth and the Minotaur. This is quite interesting.

Zakros Gorge- known as the "valley of the dead" due to the ancient neolithic tombs in the valley wall.

Ancient city of Gortyna- I would love to see here the Byzantine Cathedrals, ancient Roman ruins and most of all the tree where supposedly Zeus and Europa first made love.

There are still a lot of interesting sights in the island of Crete. There are also a lot of places to stay in this island. You can find self-catering accommodation here from villas for rent to holiday cottages apartments. Depending on your needs and budget, you can always find a perfect place to stay during your holiday.
